Official support for version 6 of CentOS®, RHEL®, Oracle® Linux, Scientific Linux and EuroLinux ended in 2020. This presents a challenge that thousands of organizations have faced, as upgrading to a higher release is often impossible or very expensive. For this reason, many entities continue to use older versions. Problems such as the lack of upgrades is growing and particularly affects the areas of system, application and data security. The solution to this is EuroELS (Extended Life Support).
WHAT IS EUROELS?
EuroELS is an extended support option for CentOS®, RHEL®, Oracle® Linux, Scientific Linux and EuroLinux versions 6. It facilitates the extension of the standard lifecycle by an additional four years, that is at least until mid-2024. EuroELS provides critical and important security patches and significant bug fixes for these systems. It also includes technical assistance with access to a support portal and the ability to contact certified EuroLinux architects and engineers directly.
Phase I – critical and important security patches, bug fixes, system improvements/new features.

EUROELS – POTENTIAL USERS
EuroELS is a solution for organizations that use the above-mentioned systems in version 6 and for various reasons cannot upgrade them. EuroELS restores system security without the need to install a new version of the system and the associated transfer of applications and data.
Using the EuroELS extended support is simple, secure, reversible and does not require reinstalling the system. You just need to run a script that will switch the patch repository and automatically migrate the system in use. This makes it possible to deliver up-to-date security patches to the software and new versions of packages from the EuroELS repository. Importantly, installed applications, data and configuration remain unchanged.
